Years of Experience
Based in Southern Connecticut, Realtor Judy Szablak (REB #0375375) has over 30 years of experience in the real estate field, making her one of the region’s premier real estate sales consultants. In addition to many designations and awards, Judy has a resume that few can match. She is the author of the book, The Art of Buying or Selling a Home. She has also served as an expert real estate panelist for NPR Radio and she has appeared as a featured agent on HGTV. In addition, Judy has served as syndicated real estate columnist for eight Hearst CT Media newspapers, a guest real estate expert on Martha Stewart Living Radio and she’s currently penning a weekly real estate column for WestportNow.
Since 1984, Judy has been serving clients in Southern Connecticut. In addition to serving as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Westport, CT, Judy is also the CEO and founder of Szablak Consulting and Best Agents Online, LLC.
Judy Szablak is a seasoned consultant and she knows precisely what it takes to succeed. She works one-on-one with real estate agents, in addition to working with real estate sales teams and entire firms. Judy also offers workshops and seminars on a range of different real estate-related topics.
Judy has had a very rich and very diverse career in the real estate field. In fact, Judy has worked in many different areas of real estate, from residential sales, to commercial real estate sales, and even real estate firm management. This experience places her in a unique position, enabling Judy to relate to and understand the unique challenges and issues facing real estate professionals. So whether you’re the manager of a real estate firm, a new Realtor who’s learning all about residential real estate, or a seasoned professional who’s interested in getting involved in commercial real estate, Judy is available to assist as a coach or consultant.
Right from the beginning, it was Judy’s commitment and go-go-go attitude that set her apart from all others. Without a car, she would walk to the real estate office each day for months until she’d saved up enough money to buy a brand new car. She remained with the firm, working in residential real estate for several years.
In 1988, Judy got her broker’s license and made the move to commercial real estate, which posed many new challenges that would prompt her to expand and perfect her skill set.
“Commercial real estate is unique. You couldn’t simply let the property promote itself on MLS. You had to work hard to market and sell the property. It was a wonderful opportunity to refine my marketing and sales skills,” Judy explained.
It was 1989 when Judy made the move to open her own real estate brokerage firm. This provided her with an opportunity to get back into residential real estate, perfecting her skills in condominium sales.
“I met a developer with a condo complex and I was hired to sell the units. So that’s precisely what I did! I was responsible for 10% of all of the condos that were sold in Bridgeport that year!” she explained.
After several years in business, Judy was approached by a representative from Prudential, who offered to buy out her brokerage if she joined their firm as a manager. She accepted the offer, sold her business and went to work with Prudential. After serving as a manager for a period of time, she found that she missed working with clients and actually selling properties, so she transitioned back into a sales position.
Judy worked her way into the number one position with the firm, as she had the top sales figures of all 60 agents. Around this time she also worked her way into the number three position for the entire state of Connecticut for customer satisfaction.
In 2000, Judy transitioned to Coldwell Banker where she quickly rose to the top before ultimately enrolling in a top agent training program. She then joined ReMax where she remained for over a decade.
In 2012, she re-joined Coldwell Banker, where she currently works today. This continued involvement in the real estate industry enables Judy to keep her finger on the industry’s pulse, which equips her with the insight and knowledge required to provide her clients with an unparalleled level of quality when it comes to coaching, mentoring, teaching and consulting.
Judy added, “I’m so blessed, as I have some really incredible clients. They make it so wonderful and rewarding.”
